Position Overview

Senior Cloud Solutions Architect

WOOD Consulting Services, Inc. is in search of a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to evaluate and design cloud-centric frameworks and specifications, while generating derived requirements and systems engineering documentation in the advancement of sophisticated cybersecurity solutions.

Security Clearance Requirements

This role mandates that all applicants be U.S. Citizens with an Active Secret clearance and the capability to secure TS/SCI. Candidates must also be eligible for DHS suitability prior to commencing employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with the Chief Engineer to craft innovative, cloud-focused architectures that deliver new cybersecurity solutions to a significant U.S. Government client.
  • Working alongside Agile Scrum teams in the design and execution of advanced, cloud-based cybersecurity solutions.
  • Engaging directly with clients, stakeholders, and end-users to discuss capability architectures, requirements, use cases, and narratives to derive, develop, and refine subsequent updates and specifications.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
    • Two years of relevant work experience may be substituted for each year of degree level education.

Essential Skills

  • Over 10 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Google cloud architecture.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience with Google cloud technologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and substantial experience in successfully guiding technical teams and projects.
  • Able to operate effectively as a leader, within a team, or as an individual contributor.
  • Strong understanding of IT products and services.
  • Proficient knowledge of IT Service Operations.
  • Innovative and technical mindset.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Capacity to analyze data and identify pertinent facts.
  • Aptitude for influencing key stakeholders and achieving desired outcomes - Proven track record of delivering results.
  • Robust and diverse business and technical knowledge.
  • Experience engaging with senior leadership, including VP and Director levels.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience and familiarity with establishing and maintaining a Google Cloud environment.
  • Knowledge of the following technologies in a cloud context: Elk Stack (ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana), Ansible, Nessus, ClamAV, AIDE, Splunk, DNS, NAT, git.
  • Familiarity with Azure Cloud and AWS Cloud technologies - Strong communication skills and ability to foster alignment.
  • Experience managing multiple personnel and projects - Background in an agile development setting.
  • Experience in DevOps and/or DevSecOps environments.
  • Knowledge and experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Experience working on projects that integrate analytic models into operational systems.
  • Experience with Google technologies, migrations to a Google environment, and maintenance of a Google environment.
  • Familiarity with agile tools, including Jira and Jira Align.
  • Experience with Python/bash scripting.

Desired Certifications

  • DoD IAT Level II - AWS Cloud-related certifications.
