Overview

The role involves delivering communication support for the V2X Human Development (HD) Directorate. The individual will be aligned with one of the five HD offices, ensuring communication efforts are in line with HD communication strategies. The Corporate Communications Specialist will specifically assist the Human Development Strategic (HDS) office or the Analytic Capabilities Office, which provides communication assistance to all HD offices, including the HD Front Office. This office plays a critical role in HD strategy and policy, Technical Integration related to HD requirements for system enhancements, and Advanced Analytic support, which includes analyzing surveys and assessments.

Responsibilities
  • Design and execute internal and external communication strategies.
  • Identify and implement proactive marketing initiatives.
  • Utilize knowledge of V2X mission and operational tempo to engage potential users and user groups.
  • Assess customer requirements; recommend suitable approaches for message/information development, communication method selection, and timing of communications.
  • Customize messages for specific target audiences.
  • Conduct research, write, edit, and publish various communication materials (e.g., print, web, electronic, briefings).
  • Guide graphic designers, briefing developers, photographers, illustrators, and other necessary personnel.
  • Prepare content for publication and other media for both internal and external audiences.
  • Oversee and manage production timelines.
  • Innovate new communication techniques to effectively reach target demographics.
  • Assist V2X senior leaders by drafting speeches, talking points, video scripts, briefings, and other communication materials (e.g., emails, articles).
  • Develop and implement strategic communication plans while understanding the needs of the relevant HD Office.
  • Support the leadership communication requirements of the HD Office by contributing to the creation of a Strategic Communications Plan and assisting in the development of various communication tools. This includes ghostwriting messages, preparing essential articles, responding to inquiries, crafting senior talking points, developing communication toolkits, and producing other communication materials to facilitate the execution of the HD Strategic Communications Plan.
  • Provide the relevant HD office with expertise in stakeholder analysis and communication needs management. This includes understanding the communication requirements of both internal and external stakeholders, engaging with segmented audiences, evaluating the effectiveness of communication strategies and products, and providing constructive feedback to leadership.
  • Deliver presentation support to HD Office leadership. This support involves collaborating with the principal to grasp message intent, creating targeted graphical concepts and designs, and producing presentation materials in various formats.
  • Formulate messages that may reach the entire V2X workforce.
  • Craft senior-level messages and talking points.
  • Implement the HD Strategic Plan.
  • Provide presentation support to Office leadership, including message intent and developing tailored graphical concepts and designs.
Qualifications
  • Education / Certifications: One year of relevant experience may substitute for one year of education if a degree is required.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations or Communication
    • Top Secret//SCI Clearance
  • Required Experience:
    • 2+ years of relevant experience.
    • Experience in providing strategic communications support or speechwriting.
    • At least 12 months of demonstrated experience in updating web content and utilizing electronic publishing applications, such as the Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, or Adobe Pro.
    • At least 12 months of demonstrated experience in AP style writing and editing.
    • At least 24 months of demonstrated experience in developing communication strategies.
  • Desired Experience:
    • Familiarity with issues relevant to V2X, the Intelligence Community, and the Department of Defense.
    • Understanding of V2X functions, products, and technologies.
    • Demonstrated strong data gathering and analytical skills; capable of planning and leading contract subtasks/projects.
  • Skills & Technology Used:
    • Proficient with PC platforms and the Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Proficient with SharePoint, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, or Adobe Pro desktop publishing applications.
    • Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and customer service skills.
    • Additional skills include briefing skills, project management, organizational skills, and effective communication.
    • Able to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
