Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Information Technology Security Analyst Lead to join our team at the Kansas Department for Children and Families. As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our information systems and data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform installation and configuration management of security systems and applications, including policy assessment and compliance tools, network security appliances, and host-based security systems.
  • Conduct threat and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  • Develop and implement security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in infrastructure projects to develop and implement specifications for network and distributed system security technologies.
  • Implement or coordinate remediation required by audits and document exceptions as necessary.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a relevant field such as cybersecurity, computer science, data science, or information security.
  • Seven years of progressive IT work experience, including three years of IT security work experience.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Experience in network security, systems administration, threat detection and log analysis tools, or identity management.
  • Incident response experience, including identification, containment, eradication, recovery, and lessons learned.
  • Ability to prepare incident reports for management review.
  • Experience in conducting security assessments, vulnerability assessments, or compliance audits.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in leading and supervising a technical team.
  • Experience in network security, including configuring and maintaining network security devices such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Experience in analyzing threat intelligence feeds and implementing proactive security measures based on threat intelligence insights.
  • Experience with security tool evaluation and selection.
  • CISSP Associate certification.
