Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform installation and configuration management of security systems and applications, including policy assessment and compliance tools, network security appliances, and host-based security systems.
  • Conduct threat and vulnerability assessments to identify potential security risks and develop remediation plans to mitigate these risks.
  • Perform system security administration on designated technology platforms, including operating systems, applications, and network security devices, in accordance with defined policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Participate in infrastructure projects to develop, plan, and implement specifications for network and distributed system security technologies in support of key information systems.
  • Implement or coordinate remediation required by audits and document exceptions as necessary.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a relevant field such as cybersecurity, computer science, data science, information security, or a related field.
  • Seven years of progressive IT work experience, including three years of IT security work experience.
  • Experience in network security, systems administration, threat detection and log analysis tools, or identity management.
  • Demonstrated experience in incident response procedures, including identification, containment, eradication, recovery, and lessons learned.
  • Proficiency in documenting security incidents, including incident details, response actions taken, and lessons learned.
  • Ability to prepare incident reports for management review.
  • Experience in conducting security assessments, vulnerability assessments, or compliance audits.
  • Familiarity with tools and methodologies for assessing security postures and identifying vulnerabilities.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance standards specific to the industry, such as NIST, HIPAA, CJIS, IRS 1075, and SSA.
  • CompTIA Security+ certificate.
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical information related to software, hardware, and telecommunications systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in leading and supervising a technical team.
  • Experience in network security, such as configuring and maintaining network security devices, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Experience in analyzing threat intelligence feeds, understanding the current threat landscape, and implementing proactive security measures based on threat intelligence insights.
  • Experience with security tool evaluation and selection, including assessing the effectiveness of security solutions and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Associate certification.
