As a founder-led, profitable, and expanding organization, we are in search of an Ubuntu Pro Sales Engineer to assist global enterprises in adopting cutting-edge Linux and open-source applications. Our team leverages expert insights to address real-world customer challenges, facilitating the enterprise adoption of Ubuntu Pro, OpenStack, Canonical Microcloud, Kubernetes, and a myriad of related technologies. This role is ideal for software engineers who relish engaging with customers and resolving their issues during the presales phase. Key Responsibilities

The Ubuntu Pro Sales Engineer plays a pivotal role in promoting and driving the adoption of Ubuntu Pro within the extensive Ubuntu enterprise user community.

  • Gather customer business requirements and provide guidance on Ubuntu and pertinent open-source applications.
  • Identify customer challenges related to open-source and articulate how Ubuntu Pro can address these issues.
  • Conduct presentations and demonstrations of Ubuntu Pro for prospective and existing clients.
  • Collaborate with product teams to relay feedback on requirements that influence the product roadmap.
  • Work in tandem with your sales team to achieve collective objectives.
  • Engage in global travel, dedicating up to 25% of your time to internal and external events and customer meetings.
Qualifications
  • Outstanding academic achievements from both secondary and tertiary education.
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical discipline or a compelling narrative regarding your alternative career path.
  • Confidence to express ideas, provide feedback, and engage in discussions without reservation.
  • Proven track record of exceeding expectations to deliver exceptional results.

  • Practical knowledge of Linux, virtualization, containers, and networking.

  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and leading platforms, such as Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Interest in large-scale enterprise open-source solutions, including private clouds, machine learning, AI, data analytics.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Python programming.
  • Passion for technology, evidenced by personal projects and initiatives.

  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken English, with excellent presentation capabilities.
  • Experience with Linux (preferably Debian or Ubuntu).
