Healthcare Scheduling Coordinator

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Advanced Office Clerk to join our team at AKAHI Associates, LLC. As a key member of our healthcare support staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative support to our medical team, ensuring seamless patient care and efficient office operations.
Responsibilities:
- Answer and direct phone calls, taking messages as needed
- Arrange and schedule medical appointments, determining patient eligibility and communicating with patients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient schedules and logs, utilizing government computer systems and standard protocols
- Process appointment cancellations and rescheduling, as well as maintain medical records in accordance with prescribed directives
- Conduct daily record pulls, deliveries, and retrievals, ensuring timely arrival of medical records
- Prepare reports on record statistics and participate in records review as part of our quality assurance program
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED equivalency, with basic medical terminology required
- At least one year of experience in medical office scheduling, with relevant experience or specialized certification (RHIT or RHIA) preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
The work can be sedentary, with some physical demands, including walking, standing, sitting, or bending. Must be able to carry 25-50 pounds and reach high shelving units with assistance.
