POSITION OVERVIEW: This role involves overseeing daily operations at project sites, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and quality standards. The Site Operations Manager will report directly to the Project Director and will be responsible for supervising both company personnel and subcontractors engaged in environmental restoration and construction initiatives. A fundamental understanding of earthmoving processes, including excavation, grading, and backfilling, is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the daily functions of onsite teams and subcontractors.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the Project Director and relevant management personnel.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to the Project Director.
  • Ensure adherence to the project timeline.
  • Monitor project expenditures and authorize subcontractor billing.
  • Guarantee compliance with safety protocols and incident reporting procedures, promptly addressing any issues with the Project Director or corporate Health and Safety Manager.
  • Willingness to travel extensively is required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a supervisory role within the environmental restoration and construction sector.
  • A combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
  • Familiarity with the safe and effective use of tools, materials, and equipment relevant to environmental restoration and construction.
  • Knowledge of first aid and safety measures.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage daily tasks according to the project schedule.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Word and Excel; experience with SharePoint is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to comprehend, follow, and relay both written and verbal instructions.
  • Dependable attendance and consistency in work performance.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training and 8-Hour Refresher training is mandatory.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to pass a HAZWOPER medical examination and drug screening as per company policy.
  • Understanding and agreement to adhere to corporate and site-specific Health and Safety Plans.
  • Experience in leading safety meetings as necessary.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification in First Aid and CPR.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects, utilizing core muscles for sustained support without fatigue. Requires good manual dexterity and coordination.
  • Regularly works outdoors, potentially in adverse weather conditions.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods during the workday.
  • May be exposed to moving vehicles and machinery.
  • Ability to work in full personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection.
  • Must be capable of traveling to various project sites and navigating diverse terrains.
  • Ability to evaluate the accuracy and thoroughness of assigned tasks.
  • May require after-hours and weekend work based on project demands.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
