About the Role: As a Relationship Manager at S&P Global Commodity Insights, you will play a critical role in enhancing relationships with Clients and helping them maximize the value of their investments with our company.

This position requires a broad understanding of the energy industry, including knowledge of front, mid, and back-office functions, as well as analysts. You will be responsible for managing S&PCI key relationships for Commodity & Insights, developing and building meaningful and lasting relationships with key and influential contacts, and understanding the client's business priorities and needs.

The Team: The Relationship Management team is responsible for the development and maintenance of long-term relationships with defined Client base to ensure a high level of Client satisfaction and influence the broader adoption of existing and new services as well as the retention of existing business.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Responsible for managing S&PCI key relationships for Commodity & Insights
  • Develops and builds meaningful and lasting relationships with key and influential contacts
  • Understand the client's business priorities and needs
  • Acts as an advocate and ensures customers are maximizing the value of their investment with S&PCI
  • Continuous investigative and collaborative contact with customers to gather strategic information about their business, understand their issues, uncover unrecognized problems providing solutions to them
  • Acts as a broker of capabilities or services for clients, advocates internally, and facilitates the involvement of sales and other functions to achieve common goals for the client and S&PCI
  • Ensures client derives value from enterprise-wide licenses to maintain loyalty by working closely with the Commercial and Research organization, to drive increased usage and broad adoption
  • Travel is an integral part of this role, and will be based on the needs of our clients. Travel to be expected is 50% or greater.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated compensation range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000. Final salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.

What We're Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Dallas, Oklahoma, or Houston
  • Proven experience of managing major or complex accounts, preferably in commodity industries.
  • Broad understanding of the energy Industry including understanding the personas of front, mid and back-office functions, as well as analysts.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Competent at creating and identifying needs using a proactive and consultative sales approach.
