Position Title: Manufacturing Process Engineer

Role Summary:

The Manufacturing Process Engineer will oversee and enhance all engineering activities related to production processes. This role involves sustaining engineering, facilitating new product launches, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining production methodologies that promote quality and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement systems and procedures to optimize manufacturing output while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct analyses to identify root causes of production issues and implement corrective actions to uphold quality benchmarks.
  • Evaluate production workflows to identify opportunities for enhancements, including standardization and process optimization.
  • Apply Lean manufacturing principles throughout the facility, including methodologies such as 5S and Kanban.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering teams to ensure effective communication regarding new product introductions and modifications.
  • Manage capital equipment projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations for all equipment.
  • Oversee plant layout and site organization.
  • Promote engineering best practices through mentorship and training.
  • Enhance shop floor productivity while managing costs effectively.
  • Develop strategies to improve plant efficiency and profitability.
  • Oversee the procurement process for machinery and tools, including supplier selection and installation.
  • Establish and refine manufacturing standards, including process maps and quality control measures.
  • Provide coaching on Lean methodologies and performance management to supervisors and team leads.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
  • Proficient in assessing manufacturing challenges related to design and tolerances.
  • Familiarity with software tools such as MS Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and preferably Inventor or SolidWorks.
  • Understanding of Lean principles and factory metrics; Six Sigma experience is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of quality standards, capital equipment, and procurement processes.
  • Experience with welding practices and relevant ASME codes.
  • Ability to apply engineering principles to develop effective manufacturing processes.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing engineering and quality assurance practices.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
