Position Summary

The Process Engineer will be responsible for managing the Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) program, conducting sizing of relief valves, and offering process support and troubleshooting for various process units. This role will also contribute to the execution of capital projects and deliver process analysis and design for the manufacturing units of olefins, oxides, oxide derivatives, and specialty chemicals. Key responsibilities include identifying, defining, justifying, and implementing both capital and non-capital improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and aligning with business goals. Furthermore, this position involves participating in troubleshooting unit issues, conducting process hazard analyses, and providing analytical support for operational units.

Responsibilities

- Advocate for safety and promote safe practices by actively participating in Personal Safety programs and Process Safety Management initiatives.

- Engage in process design reviews, including Design Package evaluations, Hazard and Operability studies (HAZOP), Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Incident Investigations, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).

- Enhance personal expertise in a wide array of process engineering tools, such as process simulation, heat transfer design, fluid dynamics analysis, and distillation/separation design.

- Develop improvement concepts and conduct feasibility studies, including high-level project scoping and economic assessments. Deliver process engineering design through the Front End Loading stages 1, 2, and 3.

- Complete Process Design Packages to facilitate process enhancements, which encompass PFD and P&ID development, equipment and instrumentation specifications, and preliminary process control strategies.

Qualifications

- Significant experience in process engineering, particularly with Area A processes.

- In-depth knowledge of equipment functionality and historical failures.

- Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM) hazards and prior Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and Layers of Protection Analyses (LOPAs).

Education Requirements

- A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred; degrees in other engineering or related fields will be considered with relevant experience.
