The Aspenwood Company is seeking a dedicated Culinary Supervisor for our senior living community.

Compensation: $21.63 per hour

The Culinary Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing food preparation and kitchen operations. This position involves managing kitchen personnel, addressing any issues that may arise, and ensuring adherence to the company's core values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef or Director of Dining Services to create varied menus that align with the community's vision and policies.
  • Innovate and develop new dishes that cater to the preferences of our residents as needed.
  • Organize the kitchen workflow and establish work schedules to ensure efficiency and excellence in task completion.
  • Prepare high-quality meals that adhere to established menus and standards.
  • Train kitchen staff to enhance the nutritional quality and enjoyment of meals for our residents.
  • Maintain order and discipline within the kitchen environment at all times.
  • Assist in the preparation of complete meals, including soups, meats, gravies, vegetables, desserts, salads, and baked goods.
  • Ensure attractive presentation of dishes prior to serving.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen space.
  • Oversee proper storage of food and other items.
  • Assess the quality of ingredients used in meal preparation.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders to prevent shortages.
  • Adhere to nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
  • Participate as a member of the community's emergency response team.
  • Uphold a professional appearance and maintain personal hygiene in accordance with company policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED, with formal training from a culinary institution.
  • Three to five years of experience as a cook or at least one year in a Sous Chef role.
  • Familiarity with various cooking techniques and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.) and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to comply with all sanitation standards.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively and lead a team effectively.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent physical condition and stamina.
