Position Summary:

The Laboratory Research Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the lead Scientist/Engineer with formulation, process innovation, and drug release development tasks. This position serves as the "hands-on technical specialist" for product advancement, providing essential insights to create high-quality products through reliable and adaptable manufacturing methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts hands-on laboratory scale drug dispensing, mixing, molding, assembly, and packaging activities to facilitate clinical development
  • Examines materials, intermediate products, final products, and container closure systems using advanced technologies, including microscopes
  • Offers in-person technical assistance for troubleshooting at contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs)
  • Identifies opportunities for process enhancements, assesses risks, and suggests optimizations
  • Documents findings through laboratory notebooks, run sheets, reports, and presentations
  • Adheres to good documentation practices (GDP) and maintains precise records
  • Observes laboratory safety protocols and complies with company regulations

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector
  • High school diploma or associate degree preferred
  • Proficient in handling and manipulating small components while working under a microscope
  • Familiarity with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
