Job Summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a skilled Neuro Psychometrician Technician to join our clinical research team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing, administering, and scoring psychological instruments for adults, children, and adolescents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with supervising neuropsychologists to prepare neuropsychological/psychological test forms tailored to patient age, educational, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Establish rapport with patients, provide encouragement, and manage anxiety/frustration during test administration.
  • Administer standardized neuropsychological/psychological tests, modifying procedures as needed to accommodate patient physical and mental limitations.
  • Accurately score tests, derive norm-referenced scores, and communicate results to supervising neuropsychologists.
  • Record patient observations, behaviors, and test administration procedures, and document completed procedures in the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in ongoing training and supervision to maintain and update knowledge of test administration and scoring procedures.
  • Contribute to the training of new psychometrists and trainees under the supervision of the training director.
  • Adhere to the American Psychological Association's Ethical Principles.
  • Distribute reports to referral sources and scan protocols for completion.
  • Prepare test batteries and maintain inventory of test supplies.
  • Clean and organize testing areas between patients.
  • Travel to and perform test administration at various sites, including the main outpatient neuropsychology clinic and other assigned locations.
  • Communicate with patients to schedule and confirm appointments, and prepare and send out appointment confirmation letters as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate
  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or Biology
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Psychology
  • 1 or more years of experience in a health-related career with direct patient contact
  • 1 or more years of experience in neuropsychological test administration, with familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and database computer software
