Oncology Research Coordinator - (Remote)
At Ambry Genetics, we are committed to advancing the field of genetics and enhancing patient outcomes through innovative research initiatives. The primary responsibility of the Oncology Research Coordinator is to lead and facilitate research endeavors, both independently and in collaboration with various scientific teams and external partners who wish to leverage Ambry's extensive data and expertise. This role requires close collaboration with members of the Clinical Research and Field Teams (Genomic Science Liaisons and Medical Science Liaisons) to assess and validate research opportunities by utilizing their expertise to evaluate feasibility, resource needs, potential impact, quality, and interest in research projects. The Coordinator will cultivate relationships with collaborators, ensure ethical data usage and interpretation, and maintain accountability for the progress of research projects within their scope.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and ensure the advancement of research projects within their portfolio.
- Manage the collaborative process throughout each project's lifecycle.
- Document project progress, including the achievement of research milestones according to established timelines.
- Identify, promote, and execute high-impact research initiatives.
- Prepare and/or review abstracts, presentations, and peer-reviewed articles.
- Build relationships with potential collaborators and key opinion leaders in genetics/genomics.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance the visibility of Ambry's research through various channels, including conferences and client interactions.
- Prioritize efforts based on urgency and internal resource availability.
- Assist the Clinical Research team with high-level administrative tasks.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Education:
- Master's degree in Genetic Counseling with direct experience in clinical research practices or genetics laboratory services -or-
- PhD in a field related to clinical genetics with a proven publication record.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Skills:
- Understanding of the scientific process, including hypothesis development, data collection, and analysis, along with foundational knowledge of biomedical statistical models, scientific writing, and publication.
- Exceptional organizational abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient writing skills.
- Familiarity with Good Clinical Practices (GCP).
- Experience with Internal Review Board (IRB) processes and Research Operations (e.g., contracting, patient consent).
- Public speaking experience.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Adept at prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines based on urgency.
