Position Overview
Assist Land Asset Teams with: digitizing GIS spatial components, creating and plotting Land maps, overseeing, maintaining, and manipulating Land spatial databases, supporting mapping standards, training Land personnel in GIS principles and ArcGIS Pro and ArcPro Server functionalities, researching and analyzing GIS data relevant to the L48 Land groups, and gathering and displaying relevant third-party data and spatial elements in our mapping systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate, revise, and update maps to support Land initiatives using ArcGIS Pro and WebMap tools.
  • Stay informed on mapping applications, technologies, and data availability to meet Land requirements.
  • Integrate third-party data into company-owned databases for mapping purposes as necessary.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining mapping standards within the Land Group.
  • Refine and manipulate spatial databases for Land analysis.
  • Mentor and instruct Land staff in mapping techniques.
  • Determine and apply suitable projections for asset projects.
  • Manage shape files to ensure compliance with company processes.
  • Engage in the Land Mapping Users Group.
  • Investigate data issues and resolve inquiries related to mapping and information requests.
  • Provide guidance on functional excellence by identifying value-adding activities and best practices.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Expected graduation date in the near future.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Willingness to work in specified locations.
  • A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Prior internships or co-op experiences in an energy-related field.
  • Experience in Petroleum Land GIS Mapping.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS or ESRI-based products and land mapping tools.
  • Knowledge of Land Systems and Software such as Quorum, Business Objects, Spotfire, Drilling Info, Enerdeq.
  • Understanding of Oil & Gas leases and Exploration & Production agreements.
  • Ability to foster dialogue for shared understanding and influence confidently to drive performance.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of key financial and quantitative indicators impacting the business.
  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments.
