Position Overview
As a Land GIS Analyst Intern, you will collaborate with an asset team within a business unit, gaining exposure to various aspects of land operations. Your responsibilities will include assisting land asset teams in the creation and generation of GIS spatial elements and land maps. Tasks may involve maintaining and manipulating land spatial databases, developing mapping standards, conducting research, and analyzing GIS data, as well as capturing and displaying relevant third-party data.

This internship will enhance your technical and professional skills. You will be paired with a mentor from the Land organization and assigned a buddy to support your transition into the corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete projects tailored to your experience level, collaborating with your mentor and other land staff, and presenting findings to management.
  • Create, revise, and update maps to support land initiatives using ArcGIS Pro and WebMap tools.
  • Integrate third-party data into company databases for mapping purposes.
  • Refine and manipulate spatial databases for land analysis.
  • Engage in the Land Mapping Users Group.
  • Investigate data issues and resolve inquiries related to mapping and information requests.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Current college level: Freshman through Senior.
  • Available for a minimum of ten continuous weeks for the internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Willingness to work in designated locations.
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Petroleum Land GIS Mapping.
  • Familiarity with ESRI products and land mapping tools.
  • Knowledge of Land Systems and Software such as Quorum, Business Objects, FME, Spotfire, DrillingInfo, and Enerdeq.
  • Understanding of Oil & Gas leases and Exploration & Production agreements.
  • Ability to foster dialogue for shared understanding and influence performance positively.
  • Demonstrated ownership of actions and commitment to accountability.
