POSITION SUMMARY

Wood's Technical Consulting Group is seeking a Lead GIS Analyst with extensive expertise in marine and offshore Geoscience to join our Survey, GIS, and Data Management Team. This role, based in Houston, TX, offers a dynamic and engaging opportunity to enhance the application of GIS and digital technologies. The Lead GIS Analyst will not only support local initiatives but also contribute to global projects in survey, GIS, and geoscience disciplines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee project GIS databases, ensuring data integrity, quality control, and comprehensive metadata management.
  • Create maps, charts, reports, and various data outputs for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Design and maintain web-based GIS portals and map services.
  • Address project inquiries on a daily basis.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers on pipeline routing and other GIS analytical tasks.
  • Engage in project meetings and workshops to provide GIS insights.
  • Contribute to the development of GIS data specifications and other technical documentation.
  • Facilitate internal and external training sessions on GIS applications.
  • Promote the broader adoption of GIS technology through workshops, presentations, and marketing initiatives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Geographic Information Systems or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in an engineering support capacity; experience in oil/gas subsea and offshore wind projects is highly advantageous. Relevant onshore experience will also be considered.
  • A minimum of 10 years of proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS products, including ArcGIS Server and 3D Analyst.
  • Solid understanding of AutoCAD, Global Mapper, and data interoperability with ESRI products.
  • Strong skills in SQL Server or related relational database management systems.
  • Experience with digital elevation models and terrain analysis.
  • Good knowledge of coordinate systems and transformations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Willingness to work extended hours as necessary to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team to achieve collective goals.
  • Self-driven and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams is beneficial.
  • Must have authorization to work legally in the US without sponsorship from Wood.
