Wood's Technical Consulting Group is actively seeking a Lead GIS Analyst with extensive expertise in marine and offshore Geoscience to become a vital member of our Survey, GIS, and Data Management Team. This role, based in our Houston office, offers a dynamic and engaging opportunity to enhance the application of GIS and innovative digital technologies.

As a key contributor, you will have the chance to support various projects and collaborate with a diverse range of clients and internal stakeholders, spanning both the traditional offshore oil and gas industry and the expanding clean energy sector in the U.S.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the management of project GIS databases, ensuring data integrity, quality control, and comprehensive metadata documentation.
  • Create detailed maps, charts, reports, and other data outputs for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Design and maintain web-based GIS portals and map services.
  • Address project inquiries on a daily basis, providing timely and accurate responses.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams on pipeline routing and various GIS analytical tasks.
  • Engage in project meetings and workshops to contribute insights and expertise.
  • Assist in the development of GIS data specifications and other technical documentation.
  • Facilitate internal and external training sessions on GIS applications.
  • Promote the broader adoption of GIS technology through presentations, workshops, and marketing initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Geographic Information Systems or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in an engineering support capacity, with a strong preference for experience in oil/gas subsea fields and offshore wind projects. Relevant onshore experience will also be considered.
  • A minimum of 10 years of proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS software, including ArcGIS Server and 3D Analyst.
  • Solid understanding of AutoCAD, Global Mapper, and data interoperability with ESRI products.
  • Strong skills in SQL Server or other relational database management systems.
  • Experience with digital elevation models and terrain analysis.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of coordinate systems and transformations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Willingness to work extended hours as necessary to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team to achieve collective objectives.
  • Self-driven with minimal need for supervision.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams.
  • Must have authorization to work legally in the U.S. without sponsorship from Wood.
