Position Overview
As a Land Analyst, you will be integrated into an asset team within a business unit. You will engage in various aspects of surface or subsurface land operations. Your responsibilities will include assisting the Land Negotiator in acquiring and maintaining surface or subsurface rights, along with various oil and gas-related agreements. This role offers a unique opportunity for comprehensive training through practical assignments, utilizing the technical skills developed during your academic or professional journey.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting research and analysis of leases and contracts, including establishing ownership for new wells and determining working interest and net revenue interest in projects.
  • Assessing working interest ownership in federal units and expansions of participating areas.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with government entities, mineral owners, surface owners, and co-owners.
  • Collaborating with other departments within the company, such as legal, accounting, tax, production, and auditing.
  • Generating various reports using Quorum Land System and Business Objects.
  • Analyzing and preparing recommendations for monthly contract and lease obligations, focusing on research and data analysis.
  • Supporting Land Negotiators with research and drafting of contracts or agreements.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Current academic standing: Senior or Graduate Student.
  • Expected graduation timeframe: Fall 2024 through Spring/Fall 2025.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Willingness to work in designated locations.
  • A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Prior internships or co-op experiences in the energy sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Land Management Certificate.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Adept at managing multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Consistently demonstrates high integrity and ethical behavior.
