Compensation: $16.00/hr - $20/hr

The Parts Counter Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and managing retail sales within our Parts Department. Key responsibilities include assisting customers in selecting the right parts, maintaining inventory, and ensuring a smooth sales process. Ideal candidates will possess a friendly demeanor, excellent communication skills, and a proactive attitude, with a preference for prior experience in an automotive dealership setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist customers (both retail and shop) in identifying necessary parts in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Inform customers about related part requirements and promotions, ensuring they are aware of the complete product range.
  • Handle phone inquiries, providing accurate price quotes and relevant information.
  • Deliver high-quality service to both internal and external clients.
  • Manage order fulfillment from stock.
  • Alert the parts manager regarding out-of-stock items or urgent shop materials.
  • Source out-of-stock parts from external suppliers and place emergency orders as needed.
  • Notify service advisors and customers when special orders arrive.
  • Follow up on back-ordered items.
  • Regularly verify will-call and back-order files, returning or restocking items as necessary.
  • Ensure all internal parts requests are accurately billed on service repair orders.
  • Process payments from retail customers or obtain credit approvals.
  • Issue credits for returned parts, ensuring the original invoice or its number is available for verification.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in both front and rear counter areas.
  • Participate in all available training programs.
  • Stay updated on new products and product updates.
  • Collaborate with the parts manager to maintain a lost sales tracking program.
  • Uphold a professional appearance at all times.
  • Perform other assigned tasks as needed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 months of relevant experience or training; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in both front and back parts counter operations is preferred.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in math and reading comprehension.
  • Basic understanding of distribution center functions.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and work at heights of 25 feet or more.
  • Willingness to be certified to operate a forklift within 90 days of hire.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Preferred experience in warehouse operations and material handling equipment.
  • Computer literacy with the ability to learn new software programs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
