Key Responsibilities

Peraton is on the lookout for skilled professionals to join our team, providing engineering support for Cyber Situational Awareness (SA), Cyber Command and Control (C2), Mission Assurance, and Homeland Defense.

Your role will involve engaging in Agile software engineering within a Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) framework, alongside performing Cloud architectural design, operation, and administration tasks, as well as cyber security and Risk Management Framework (RMF) support.

This position encompasses the rapid design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and operation of specific software and hardware capabilities to address current Cyber Defensive requirements.

As a Cybersecurity Systems Protection Specialist with ESS Proficiency, you will:

  • Utilize, install, and configure Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS).
  • Deliver technical and programmatic Information Assurance Services to both internal and external clients, supporting network and information security systems.
  • Design, develop, and implement security protocols within an organization's operational processes.
  • Prepare documentation based on information gathered from clients, adhering to established guidelines such as RMF using Xacta and EMASS.
  • Develop test plans.
  • Provide assessment and authorization (A&A) support in crafting security and contingency plans, while conducting comprehensive risk and vulnerability assessments.
  • Analyze policies and procedures against Federal laws and regulations, offering recommendations to bridge any gaps.
  • Create and finalize system security plans and contingency strategies.
  • Advise on system enhancements to rectify security vulnerabilities.
  • Develop, test, and integrate computer and network security tools.
  • Secure system configurations and install security tools, conducting scans to ensure compliance and report findings, while evaluating products and various facets of system administration.
  • Conduct security program audits and devise solutions to mitigate identified risks, formulating strategies to comply with privacy, risk management, and e-authentication mandates.
  • Offer information assurance support for the formulation and execution of security architectures to meet evolving security demands.
  • Evaluate, develop, and enhance security requirements, policies, and tools, providing assistance in computer incident investigations.
  • Execute vulnerability assessments, including the development of risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
  • Requires 5 years of experience with a BS/BA, 3 years with an MS/MA/MBA, or 0 years with a PhD, or 9 years of related work experience without a degree.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in executing Risk Management Framework activities using Xacta and EMASS.
  • Experience in utilizing, installing, and configuring Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS).
  • Proven experience conducting STIG assessments, including the use of SCAP benchmarks.
  • Demonstrated expertise in performing vulnerability assessments with the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution tool.
  • Experience in utilizing STIG.
  • Experience in developing Plans of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) entries.
  • Experience in completing Risk Management Framework Step 5 authorizations in the Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) role.
  • Experience in communicating risk reduction recommendations to stakeholders.
  • IAT Level II Certification.
  • Minimum certification as 461 (or similar as required by the Technical Instruction) at the Intermediate level per DoDD, or successor.
  • Must possess an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility clearance or above.

Target Salary Range$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
