Job Title: Director of Finance

At Collaborative Solutions for Communities, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data, and providing strategic financial guidance to our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and process payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payments to employees.
  • Oversee the general ledger, posting journal entries, and ensuring revenue and expenses are recognized according to accounting standards.
  • Make sound investment decisions to increase our company's portfolio, analyzing trends to reduce financial risks associated with making investment or spending decisions.
  • Prepare and outline complex financial models into simple terms that others can work with, using business software to create reports and analyze data.
  • Monitor cash balances, overseeing the preparation of backup documentation for billings for invoices for various contracts.
  • Review budget to assist the Executive Director in financial projections, preparing and assisting in the preparation of financial reports.
  • Supervise department accountants, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
Requirements:
  • At least four years' experience in nonprofit accounting operations, with responsibility for a broad range of accounting activities.
  • Preferred experience with nonprofit grants and contracts, excellent oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload, thorough knowledge of accounting practices and concepts.
  • General knowledge of Microsoft products, demonstrated competency in all accounting functional areas and financial software systems like Sage Intacct, ADP, Tally, and others.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, preferably a Master's or CPA license.
