About the Chief Financial Officer Division

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Division is responsible for overseeing the financial management of the Department of the Treasury. The division plays a critical role in ensuring the effective and efficient use of financial resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial plans and strategies to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Manage and oversee the financial operations of the division, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Provide financial analysis and advice to senior management on financial matters.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws.
  • Manage and oversee the work of financial analysts and other staff members.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of financial management principles and practices.
  • Experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Education

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required. A master's degree or higher in a related field may be preferred.

Additional Information

This is a non-bargaining unit position. The salary range for this position is $145,000 - $170,000 per year. The position is open to all qualified candidates, including current federal employees and veterans.
