About One Medical

One Medical is a pioneering primary care provider dedicated to transforming the healthcare landscape by enhancing the affordability, accessibility, and enjoyment of quality care.

We are not just another healthcare facility; we are on a mission to revolutionize healthcare, improving the experience for all stakeholders - from patients and healthcare providers to employers and health networks.

For over fifteen years, our integrated in-office and 24/7 virtual care services, on-site laboratories, and programs for preventive care, chronic disease management, common ailments, and mental health have been positively impacting lives.

In early 2023, we achieved a significant milestone by joining forces with Amazon, aiming to deliver exceptional healthcare to a broader audience, including consumers, employers, care teams, and health networks, ultimately leading to improved health outcomes.

As we expand and strive to touch more lives, we are committed to building a diverse, motivated, and compassionate team, fostering an environment where everyone can flourish.

The Role

As a Flex Phlebotomist/Administrative Assistant (internally referred to as a Flex Member Support Specialist/Lab Service Specialist), you will play a crucial role in delivering an outstanding experience for our patients, assisting them in an essential aspect of their healthcare journey through venipuncture and various clinical support services.

You will serve as a patient ambassador, showcasing exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to service.

Your responsibilities will include removing barriers to care, ensuring a remarkable in-office patient experience, and providing support for daily office operations, including scheduling, inventory management, and facility upkeep.

As the steward of the office environment, you will ensure that the lobby reflects the One Medical brand and values.

You will also be the primary point of contact for patient feedback and provide additional support as needed by the Leads, Office Manager, or in-office providers.

Our Flex Member Support Specialist/Lab Services Specialist supports multiple locations within a market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver top-tier venipuncture services across a diverse patient demographic, from pediatrics to geriatrics.

  • Uphold high standards of in-office care through meticulous specimen labeling, handling, processing, inventory management, and sterilization of tools.
  • Manage dispensary responsibilities, including verifying counts, maintaining inventory, placing orders, and preparing prescriptions for patient collection.
  • Extend care beyond the lab by responding to patient inquiries, following up on lab results, and assisting providers with clerical tasks.
  • Utilize the C-I-CARE framework to ensure positive patient interactions and a seamless in-office experience.
  • Perform front-of-house duties, including patient check-in/check-out, insurance verification, and paperwork management.
  • Support senior patients with administrative tasks, such as answering calls and coordinating transportation.
  • Contribute to team development through participation in team meetings and problem-solving sessions.
  • Execute opening and closing duties, maintaining the appearance of both patient and employee areas.
  • Master our technology suite to effectively communicate with team members and complete daily tasks.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in computer technology, including typing and navigating multiple software systems.
  • Experience working collaboratively within diverse, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to instill confidence and trust during the collection process while providing individualized, patient-centered care.
  • Proven track record of adapting to change and effectively addressing challenges.
  • Phlebotomy experience and/or certification is preferred.
  • Experience with extended scope care is a plus.
Benefits

We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health and wellness, including:

  • Paid sabbatical after 5 and 10 years of service.
