The Role
As a Phlebotomist/Administrative Assistant (known internally as a Member Support Specialist/Lab Service Specialist), you will play a crucial role in delivering an outstanding experience for our patients. Your responsibilities will include performing venipuncture, managing dispensary tasks, and providing essential clinical support services.
You will serve as a patient ambassador, utilizing your exceptional interpersonal skills to create meaningful connections and remove barriers to care, ensuring a remarkable in-office experience. Your duties will also encompass office management, scheduling, inventory control, and maintaining the overall ambiance of the office.
As the first point of contact for patient feedback, you will collaborate with Leads, Office Managers, and in-office providers to provide comprehensive support.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality venipuncture services across diverse patient demographics.
- Assist with extended scope duties, including non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vital signs, and vaccinations.
- Uphold in-office care standards through meticulous specimen handling, inventory management, and sterilization protocols.
- Manage dispensary tasks such as verifying counts, maintaining inventory, and preparing prescriptions for patient pickup.
- Support patient communication by addressing inquiries, following up on lab results, and assisting providers with clerical tasks.
- Perform front desk duties, including check-in/check-out, insurance verification, and managing patient paperwork.
- Contribute to team development through participation in meetings and collaborative problem-solving.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of both patient and employee areas.
- Become proficient in our technology suite to facilitate effective communication and task completion.
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A minimum of 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in computer technology and the ability to navigate multiple software systems.
- Experience working in diverse, collaborative teams.
- Confidence and trustworthiness during the specimen collection process.
- A proven ability to adapt to change and learn quickly.
- Preferred phlebotomy certification and experience with extended scope care.
