Item Processing Services Manager

Overview:
Oversees a designated team within the realm of Item Processing and Deposit Services. Responsible for managing a team of approximately 10 full-time employees (or fewer if handling diverse roles and/or intricate functions).
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise the daily operations of a unit within Item Processing and Deposit Services to achieve departmental goals.
Direct and oversee the activities of assigned personnel to ensure adherence to all organizational policies, departmental procedures, and external regulations, thereby minimizing compliance risks to the bank.
Compile monthly performance data for unit activities for management review and decision-making.
Contribute to tactical planning and short-term projects as required.
Regularly assess unit processes, procedures, and policies to enhance operational efficiency.
Maintain established service standards within the unit and address escalations to meet defined business expectations.
Exercise managerial authority regarding staffing, performance evaluations, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management, and terminations.
Understand and comply with the company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in alignment with the company's risk appetite.
Foster an inclusive environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Uphold M&T internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit findings along with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Scope of Responsibilities:
This role encompasses full managerial responsibilities in directing daily operations for a unit within the Banking Services Department.
Depending on the unit managed, this position may necessitate specialized technical expertise due to the medium complexity, size, and/or scope of functions.
The role operates largely independently in managing unit activities and associated risk exposure.Education and Experience Required:
A combined minimum of 6 years of higher education and relevant work experience, including at least 1 year of leadership and/or supervisory experience.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Prior experience demonstrating tact and diplomacy.
Strong proficiency in relevant spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software as required for the unit managed.
Education and Experience Preferred:
Bachelor's degree.
Experience in call center and/or financial services operations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong familiarity with departmental systems, documents, and procedures.
M&T Bank is dedicated to fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation for our employees. The salary range for this position is $74,000 to $123,810.11 annually (USD). The successful candidate's specific combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will determine their individual compensation.
