Position Summary:

  • Oversee the design, planning, implementation, and assessment of training for Central Supply personnel.
  • Establish and evaluate competencies for team members.
  • Create educational programs tailored to departmental requirements and promote staff growth.
  • Provide guidance and effective communication to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Possess expertise in instrument handling, sterilization processes, disinfection protocols, and infection prevention.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited surgical technology or central service technology program.
  • Certification as a Registered Central Service Technician through HSPA.
  • Achieve Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Obtain Certified Healthcare Leadership (CHL) certification within one year of employment.
  • A minimum of five years of progressive experience in Sterile Processing or Operating Room settings.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or higher in Healthcare or a related discipline.
  • At least one year of experience in an educational or training capacity.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Information Systems.
  • Experience with regulatory bodies such as JCAHO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive orientation and educational initiatives for staff.
  • Facilitate orientation and training sessions for new employees.
  • Collaborate on the development of departmental educational strategies and policies.
  • Address the educational needs of the department effectively.
  • Enhance patient safety and operational effectiveness.
