Job Overview

Position Summary: The Outside Plant Construction Inspector plays a crucial role in overseeing the development and implementation of external telecommunications infrastructure. This position ensures that all construction activities are executed in accordance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the establishment and construction of external plant systems for telecommunication networks.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA safety regulations, industry standards, and the latest design specifications throughout all construction phases.
  • Work collaboratively with contractors and stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery within budget constraints.
  • Perform quality assurance inspections to confirm compliance with established standards and specifications.
  • Identify and resolve any issues that arise during the construction process.
  • Verify that all construction personnel are properly identified as contractors, including the use of safety vests, identification badges, and vehicle markings.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all construction activities.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate interdepartmental communication to promote effective project coordination.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in outside plant construction and installation.
  • Strong knowledge of industry regulations and specifications.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
