Role Overview:

The Commercial Construction Field Superintendent will oversee the execution of various interior renovation projects, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets. This role requires effective management of field crews and the ability to lead teams towards successful project completion across multiple locations in the greater Houston area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Procore construction software for daily logs, documentation, and project communication.
  • Travel between job sites in the downtown and surrounding areas; reliable transportation is essential.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and supervise field teams to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Monitor and assess field crew performance and timesheets.
  • Manage subcontractor scheduling and coordination, ensuring compliance with project timelines.
  • Collaborate with project management, property managers, and building owners to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Ensure quality control and craftsmanship throughout all projects.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in construction documents.
  • Proactively address potential project issues and propose solutions.
  • Oversee job site safety and compliance reporting.
  • Manage material and equipment orders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate site inspections with city officials and third-party inspectors.
  • Complete punch lists and project closeout documentation.
  • Provide after-hours supervision as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with project contracts, construction drawings, and building regulations.
  • Maintain strong communication with team members, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Assist in the acquisition and approval of shop drawings and submittals.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience as a project lead or superintendent in commercial construction.
  • Proficiency in Procore construction software.
  • Preferred college degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction drawings and documentation.
  • Proven track record of completing projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom.
  • OSHA certifications are preferred.
  • Familiarity with Houston's commercial construction processes and regulations.
  • Experience in tenant improvements and high-rise environments is advantageous.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project conditions and work effectively in fast-paced settings.
  • Demonstrated accountability and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of commercial real estate and property management is a plus.
