Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Assistant II to join our team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The successful candidate will provide diverse financial support to the Dean for Student Life accounting team, processing and monitoring supplier transactions, procurement, reimbursements, and internal provider billings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and monitor supplier transactions, procurement, reimbursements, and internal provider billings
  • Work closely and collaboratively with DSL and other MIT staff and vendors
  • Develop an understanding of MIT's complex budgets, fiscal policies, and financial processes
  • Proactively provide feedback and suggestions for improvements
Requirements
  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • At least three years of work experience in accounting or finance
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Proficiency in accounting and with the use of software such as SAP, COUPA, and Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting, finance, or business
  • MIT work experience
Working Arrangements

The Finance and Accounting team maintains a hybrid (mostly remote) working arrangement, with that status to be reviewed periodically.
