Position: Senior IT Systems Administrator

Role Purpose: The Senior IT Systems Administrator will oversee the daily management and surveillance of APCON's corporate IT framework, ensuring optimal support for all end-users. This position is crucial for maintaining the seamless operation of our networking and server systems while upholding stringent security measures. We are in search of a candidate with substantial experience in Microsoft Exchange and Linux server management to enhance our IT team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Microsoft Exchange operations, including upgrades and migrations.
  • Manage both Windows and Linux applications, server provisioning, and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Assist in the preventative maintenance and updates of APCON's IT hardware and software systems.
  • Collaboratively manage and update Microsoft Active Directory, WSUS, and Exchange infrastructure.
  • Support the maintenance of computer hardware and networking devices.
  • Administer routine maintenance and updates for all IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and upkeep of monitoring and security tools.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software-related IT issues.
  • Conduct network vulnerability assessments to ensure secure operations.
  • Provide after-hours support for scheduled maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of Systems Administration experience in a corporate setting.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with Microsoft Exchange.
  • 5 years of experience with both Linux and Windows systems.
  • Proven experience in performing preventative maintenance and updates on hardware and software.
  • Ability to maintain and update computer hardware effectively.
  • Experience in troubleshooting network-related issues.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and various network monitoring tools.
  • Effective communication skills for conveying technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Experience with Linux server management.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.

Physical Requirements: The role requires the ability to occasionally sit, stand, bend, twist, reach, carry, lift, pull, and push weights between 1-15 lbs.
