Job Summary

Fannie Mae is seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate to join our Multifamily LIHTC Asset Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the post-closing management activities of our equity portfolio, including relationship management with syndicator partners, risk assessment, and corrective strategy implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Relationship Management: Own and manage the relationship with syndicator partners in the development, construction, and operation phases of LIHTC investments.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze Multifamily portfolio data, counterparties, markets, legal agreements/terms, financial statements, and cash flows to identify trends and draw reasonable conclusions.
  • Problem Resolution: Resolve problems by sourcing and analyzing information to develop recommendations and presenting them to management and external stakeholders to mitigate financial and credit risk.
  • Data Quality and Integrity: Ensure data quality and integrity, and assist in the automation of asset management data.
  • Process Improvement: Improve processes to monitor and communicate credit risk within the team and across the Multifamily organization.
  • Project Leadership: Lead and support the development of action plans for non-routine project-based work, including regulatory and internal audit activities.
  • Professional Development: Maintain Fannie Mae training schedule and actively focus on personal development aligned with Fannie Mae leadership criteria for Associates that complements business unit goals.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 2 years of related experience in Multifamily LIHTC Asset Management, affordable housing finance, real estate finance, transactions, and structures.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of the Multifamily market, including LIHTC Asset Management, affordable housing finance, real estate finance, transactions, and structures, legal contracts, loan documents, third-party reports, cap rates, and credit analysis.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal and influencing skills, ability to deal with multiple business units within the Multifamily organization, strong customer relationship management skills, self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
