Facility Overview:

Kettering Health Washington Township, previously known as Southview Medical Center, has been a vital healthcare provider in the South Dayton suburbs for over four decades. This facility is a 123 licensed-bed hospital conveniently located off I-675, offering a range of services including maternity care, emergency services, and specialized medical treatments.

In 2020, our facility earned an A rating from the Leapfrog Group, recognizing it as one of the safest hospitals in the nation. Additionally, we have achieved 5 Star Baby-Friendly Hospital status from the Ohio Hospital Association.

Department Summary:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inventory evaluations to ensure sufficient levels of supplies and equipment.
  • Support Material Management in fostering positive relationships with various departments to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to instructions and assist Material Management leadership with assigned tasks.
  • Maintain professionalism in communication and appearance at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand the critical role of the department in supporting patient care.
  • Engage with departments regarding supply issues and assist with inquiries.
  • Ensure supply areas are organized and maintained in a safe and clean environment.
  • Verify the quantity and description of supplies received or delivered.
  • Manage inventory, stock, and dispense supplies and equipment as per requisitions.
  • Utilize the FIFO method for stock rotation in assigned areas.
  • Label and organize supplies in designated inventory locations.
  • Initiate follow-up procedures to address stock shortages.
  • Participate in scheduled physical inventory counts.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Skills:
Familiarity with computer systems and related equipment is preferred.

Experience:
Prior experience in materials management processes is preferred.
