Department Overview:

Job Summary:
The Materials Management Technician is responsible for conducting inventory evaluations to ensure sufficient supply levels and equipment availability. This role involves collaborating with various departments to enhance relationships and ensure optimal customer satisfaction. The technician must adhere to professional standards and assist leadership with assigned tasks while maintaining proper communication etiquette.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand the essential role of the department in supporting patient care.
  • Engage with departments regarding supply issues and assist with inquiries.
  • Maintain a safe and organized supply area.
  • Verify the quantity and descriptions of received and delivered supplies.
  • Manage inventory, stocking, and dispensing of supplies as per requisitions.
  • Implement FIFO techniques for stock rotation.
  • Label and organize supplies in designated inventory locations.
  • Initiate follow-up procedures to address stock shortages.
  • Participate in scheduled physical inventory counts.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Skills:
Familiarity with computer systems and related equipment is preferred.

Experience:
Prior experience in materials management processes is preferred.
