Department Overview:

Job Summary:
The Materials Management Technician is responsible for conducting inventory evaluations to ensure sufficient supply levels and equipment availability. This role supports the Material Management department in fostering positive relationships between Kettering Health Network departments and Material Management, aiming for optimal customer satisfaction. The technician must adhere to instructions and assist leadership with assigned tasks while maintaining professional conduct and appearance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand the essential role of the department in supporting patient care.
  • Communicate with various departments regarding supply issues and substitutions; assist with incoming inquiries.
  • Maintain supply areas and materials in a safe and organized environment.
  • Verify the quantity and descriptions of supplies received or delivered.
  • Manage inventory, stock, and distribute supplies and equipment according to requests.
  • Receive and rotate incoming stock using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
  • Label and organize supplies in designated inventory locations.
  • Initiate follow-up procedures to prevent stock shortages.
  • Participate in scheduled physical inventory counts.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Skills:
Familiarity with computer systems and related equipment is preferred.

Experience:
Prior experience in materials management processes is preferred.
