Position Overview:

The Capital Projects Procurement Specialist will be instrumental in strategizing, coordinating, and executing procurement activities related to capital projects and national agreements at Titan America. This role encompasses the development and implementation of sourcing strategies aimed at optimizing costs, quality, and delivery timelines for materials, equipment, and services essential for capital projects. The position requires effective negotiation skills, a comprehensive understanding of the capital sourcing domain, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing: Formulate and execute sourcing strategies aligned with project requirements to ensure cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services while adhering to Titan America’s procurement policies.
  • Supplier Management: Identify and evaluate suppliers capable of fulfilling project requirements. Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers to guarantee timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure advantageous terms, including pricing and service levels, while ensuring contracts are structured to mitigate risks and align with project goals.
  • Cost Management: Analyze project budgets to identify cost-saving opportunities. Implement cost reduction initiatives through effective negotiation and alternative sourcing strategies.
  • Risk Management: Assess and mitigate supply chain risks that could affect project timelines. Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with engineering, finance, operations, and project management teams to align sourcing activities with project objectives.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual agreements. Conduct regular performance reviews and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Compliance and Ethics: Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements related to procurement activities, promoting ethical business practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, particularly in capital-intensive industries.
  • Proven experience in sourcing for large capital projects.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and perform cost analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building effective relationships.
