Position Overview:

The Capital Projects Procurement Specialist will be instrumental in orchestrating, planning, and executing the strategic sourcing and procurement functions associated with capital initiatives and national agreements at Titan America. This role entails the formulation and execution of sourcing strategies aimed at optimizing costs, ensuring quality, and adhering to delivery timelines for materials, equipment, and services essential for capital projects. The position also involves negotiating contracts for these projects, closely collaborating with key stakeholders such as Engineering, Operations, Legal, and Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing: Formulate and implement sourcing strategies that align with project scopes to guarantee cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services while ensuring compliance with Titan America’s procurement policies.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, assess, and select suppliers capable of fulfilling project requirements. Foster and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely and reliable delivery of goods and services.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure advantageous terms, including pricing, payment conditions, and quality standards. Structure contracts to mitigate risks and align with project goals.
  • Cost Management: Analyze project budgets and cost estimates to uncover opportunities for savings. Implement cost reduction strategies through effective negotiation and value engineering.
  • Risk Management: Evaluate and mitigate supply chain risks that could affect project timelines. Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, and operations, to align sourcing activities with project objectives.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess supplier performance and ensure compliance with contracts. Conduct regular reviews and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Compliance and Ethics: Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements in sourcing and procurement activities. Promote ethical practices in all supplier interactions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are advantageous.
  • At least 10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, particularly in capital-intensive sectors.
  • Proven experience in sourcing for large capital projects.
  • Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and cost analysis.
  • Proficiency in sourcing tools and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
