POSITION TITLE: Senior Vice President of Operational Finance

OVERVIEW:

The Senior Vice President of Operational Finance will oversee the operational accounting division, focusing on both residential and development accounting functions. This role will collaborate closely with the Chief Financial Officer, accounting personnel, asset management, property management, and the Senior Leadership Team.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise the Development Accounting and Residential Accounting teams.
  • Lead a team of thirteen employees, including two direct reports.
  • Manage monthly and annual financial closing processes, financial reporting, fixed asset accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Support the preparation of monthly company updates and board materials as required.
  • Oversee monthly ledger reconciliations and job cost reports.
  • Analyze contracts and proposals in collaboration with other leadership members.
  • Ensure compliance with operating, regulatory, and joint venture agreements.
  • Enhance current accounting procedures and processes for improved efficiency and quality.
  • Utilize Yardi application, DealPath, and Smartsheets for reporting and data analysis.
  • Assist the CFO with business and financial inquiries.
  • Develop and mentor accounting leaders and the broader accounting team.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Minimum of ten years in accounting with at least five years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in affordable housing, real estate, or construction is preferred.
  • Background in public CPA firms and private companies.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting principles.
  • Proven ability to analyze and communicate complex accounting and compliance requirements.

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • CPA certification is not mandatory.

SKILLS:
  • Results-driven with exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to coach and mentor staff effectively.
  • Resourceful with effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

SALARY RANGE: The compensation for this position is competitive and will vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
