Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Department Coordinator to join our team at Marshalls. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for promoting an excellent customer experience, overseeing a team of associates, and ensuring the smooth operation of our front-of-store operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates a positive internal and external customer experience by providing exceptional customer service and promoting loyalty programs.
  • Promotes a culture of honesty and integrity, maintaining confidentiality and upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Takes an active role in training and mentoring associates on front-end principles, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Trains and coaches associates on personalizing the customer experience while promoting loyalty programs, ensuring a seamless and engaging shopping experience for our customers.
  • Assigns registers, supports and responds to POS coverage needs, and coordinates breaks for all associates, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of our front-of-store operations.
  • Addresses customer concerns and issues promptly, ensuring a positive customer experience and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensures associates execute tasks and activities according to store plan, prioritizing as needed to meet sales goals and customer expectations.
  • Communicates accurately and effectively with management and associates when setting and addressing priorities, providing progress updates and ensuring everyone is aligned with our goals and objectives.
  • Provides and accepts recognition and constructive feedback, fostering a culture of open communication and continuous improvement.
  • Partners with management on associate training needs to increase effectiveness, ensuring our team has the skills and knowledge to succeed in their roles.
  • Ensures adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures, maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Promotes credit and loyalty programs, driving sales and revenue growth through effective marketing and promotional strategies.
  • Supports and participates in store shrink reduction goals and programs, ensuring we maintain a secure and organized store environment.
  • Promotes safety awareness and maintains a safe environment, ensuring the well-being of our associates and customers.

Requirements:

  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, to meet the needs of our customers and business.
  • Strong understanding of merchandising techniques, including visual merchandising and inventory management.
  • Capable of multi-tasking, prioritizing tasks, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail and a focus on delivering exceptional results.
  • Able to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations, remaining calm and composed under pressure.
  • Team player, working effectively with peers and supervisors to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Able to train others, providing guidance and support to help associates develop their skills and knowledge.
  • 1 year retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience, with a proven track record of success in a similar role.
