Role Overview:

As an Engine Inspection Specialist, you will conduct visual and dimensional assessments on engines, accessories, and related components to ascertain their condition for service return, adhering to approved data and customer specifications. You will also have the opportunity to cross-train in complementary skills to support production needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of items undergoing repair or overhaul to confirm compliance with approved data and customer specifications.
  • Document the modification status/configuration of products to ensure adherence to applicable regulatory and customer standards.
  • Ensure inspected products are adequately cleaned and in suitable condition for inspection.
  • Assess the repairability of products that do not meet the necessary requirements.
  • Record inspection outcomes on the relevant documentation.
  • Estimate costs for replacement parts and labor needed for applicable work instructions.
  • Generate necessary documentation for the repair of unserviceable items.
  • Inspect and identify components in the Reduced to Parts (RTP) process.
  • Conduct physical inspections of parts in the Check for Acceptance (C for A) process.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives for cell processes.
  • Participate in cross-training of fellow technicians as required.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and report any unsafe practices or conditions immediately.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Knowledgeable in identifying conditions on products resulting from service operations.
  • Ability to utilize and interpret production process publications (graphs, charts, schematics, blueprints).
  • Understanding of the functions and operations of the products being inspected.
  • Skilled in technical writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with production management systems and related internal controls.
  • Completion of the Detail Inspector Training & Development Plan.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted for approximately 25% of the workday.
  • Capability to sit for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work day, evening, or weekend shifts as needed.
  • Authorization to work in the US.
