About the Position

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Land Development Engineer to join our dynamic team in Richmond, VA. As a key member of our Land Development and Planning and Design team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from large-scale industrial developments to residential and commercial projects.

Responsibilities
  • Develop site/civil engineering plans and specifications for various projects, including industrial, biotech, institutional, healthcare, and residential developments.
  • Support the preparation of land development design and permitting documents.
  • Manage project financial performance and client relations.
  • Prepare and review drawings and specifications documenting the systems designed.
  • Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to discuss design and permitting issues.
  • Supervise design team activities during Construction Administration.
  • Manage work and development of junior-level staff.
  • Develop new project opportunities and manage proposal submissions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of increasing engineering experience on complex projects.
  • PE licensure in Virginia or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Proficient in site layout, grading, utility design, and stormwater management.
  • Experience in developing and compiling site plans, construction documents, specifications, and engineering reports.
