Land Development Engineer Opportunity

VHB's Richmond, VA office is seeking a skilled Land Development Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Land Development and Planning team, you will have the opportunity to work on complex projects, develop site/civil engineering plans, and support the preparation of land development design and permitting documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop site/civil engineering plans and specifications for various projects, including industrial developments, biotech, institutional, healthcare, and residential.
  • Support the preparation of land development design and permitting documents.
  • Manage project financial performance and client relations.
  • Prepare and review drawings and specifications documenting the systems designed.
  • Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues.
  • Manage work and development of junior-level staff.
  • Manage small, medium, or large projects.
  • Develop new project opportunities and manage proposal submissions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • ~5+ years of increasing engineering experience on complex projects.
  • Proficient in site layout, grading, utility design, and stormwater management.
  • Experience in developing and compiling/producing site plans, construction documents, specifications, and engineering reports.
