Civil Engineering Project Manager Job Description

Our Civil Engineering Department is seeking a self-motivated, organized, and experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager to lead our land development projects in Richmond, VA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple land development projects, both public and private, ensuring timely completion and quality results.
  • Perform technical quality control reviews to ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulations.
  • Prepare proposals and budgets for projects, including cost estimates and resource allocation.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor civil engineers and designers assigned to your projects, providing guidance and support to ensure project success.
  • Prepare and oversee the preparation of engineering designs and calculations, including construction documents, specifications, and engineering reports.
  • Support the Managing Director in developing and maintaining client relationships, ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in the state of Virginia.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in civil engineering project management, including experience with land development projects and permitting submissions.
  • Prior experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD, Bluebeam, and Autodesk SSA, as well as strong knowledge of Virginia engineering standards and permitting regulations.
