Job Description

A client in Richmond, TX is seeking a Land Analyst to join the Land Department. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing the acquisition package for the land acquisition and development process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gathering all necessary documents and information to prepare the land acquisition package for corporate approval.
  • Preparing market analysis reports to assess property values, including compiling market activity and financial trends.
  • Utilizing Excel proforma to show economic effects on current deals.
  • Preparing House Profit Analyses and reviewing gross profit margins for each sales contract.
  • Reviewing SG&A expenses and providing coding. Assisting in SG&A forecast preparation.
  • Interacting with environmental engineering companies, geotechnical soil companies, title companies, and other partners to collect market data and generate reports.
  • Preparing and submitting surety requests to corporate and coordinating approvals through municipalities and legal for issuance, including submittals for extensions and reductions.
  • Assisting the Land Development Department and/or Project Managers with releases.
  • Processing all Contract Request Form (CRF) and Budget Line Adjustments (BLA) requests from the Land Development Department and/or the LDPMs.
  • Reviewing land development budgets monthly, entering budget adjustments, and providing journal entries to accounting.
  • Assisting vendors and employees with questions related to Land Development contracts and payments.
  • Updating systems with drill dates for soils reports and managing the collection of dates.
  • Conducting monthly close procedures and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Preparing monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.

Requirements:
  • Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree.
  • 2-5 years of experience as a financial analyst, data analyst, accounting analyst.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and able to manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with a construction, residential, homebuilder, real estate, or oil and gas company.
  • Experience with Pivot tables and V-look ups.
