Role Overview

McGregor Industries is in search of a full-time Construction Cost Analyst to enhance our operations.

In this role, you will oversee and evaluate project expenditures, track budgets, utilize the percentage-of-completion accounting method, and deliver financial insights to aid in strategic decision-making.

This position necessitates on-site collaboration with various stakeholders, including project managers, estimators, and the finance team, as well as clients.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of construction accounting principles and will be pivotal in ensuring precise project costing and financial reporting.

Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting, ideally within the construction sector.
- Strong grasp of construction accounting principles and cost control techniques is preferred.
- Proficient in financial analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with job cost accounting software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks and perform under pressure with competing deadlines.


- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new technologies (Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, OneNote, PowerPoint).

Experience with Pro-Contractor, Textura, and other contractor-based platforms is advantageous. Knowledge of Lead, RACP, and CCIP/OCIP reporting would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee AIA billing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and submit Client Progress Billing Draw Requests.
- Conduct reconciliations of billings against actual costs.
- Provide proactive and responsive customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with project-related audits.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate with project managers, finance team, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless financial operations.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and contribute to the development and implementation of new procedures.
- Other duties and responsibilities may evolve or be assigned as necessary.
