Role OverviewMcGregor Industries is in search of a full-time Construction Cost Analyst to contribute to our operations.
In this role, you will oversee and evaluate project expenditures, track budgets, implement percentage-of-completion accounting methods, and deliver financial insights to facilitate informed decision-making.
This position necessitates on-site collaboration with various stakeholders, including project managers, estimators, and the finance department, as well as clients.
The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of construction accounting principles and will be instrumental in ensuring precise project costing and financial reporting.
Qualifications and Skills- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in cost accounting, ideally within the construction sector.
- Strong grasp of construction accounting principles and cost management techniques is preferred.
- Proficient in financial analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with job cost accounting software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies (Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, OneNote, PowerPoint).
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage AIA billing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and submit Client Progress Billing Draw Requests.
- Conduct reconciliations of billings against actual costs.
- Provide proactive and responsive service to both internal and external customers.
- Assist with project-related audits.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate with project managers, finance team, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless financial operations.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and contribute to the development and implementation of new procedures.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
