Position Overview:
As a vital member of the American Red Cross, you will play a key role in enhancing the health and well-being of families with young children. This position focuses on delivering essential nutrition services to clients enrolled in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver direct nutrition services to individual clients and small groups within the WIC Program.
2. Certify WIC participants and effectively communicate the services available to the community.
3. Adhere to the policies and procedures set forth by the American Red Cross and perform related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:
- Provide nutrition education to WIC participants to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Assess the medical and nutritional risks of applicants by analyzing various health-related data.
- Prescribe appropriate supplemental foods based on individual needs.
- Implement the Nutrition Education Plan and associated curricula.
- Facilitate both individual and group nutrition education sessions, tailored to the participants' categories and needs.
- Maintain effective communication with participants' healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Offer guidance on nutritional and health-related concerns while maintaining confidentiality.
- Share information about community resources to assist participants.
- Support co-workers and participants by working in various office roles as needed.
- Ensure accurate interpretation of WIC policies and procedures.
- Contact participants to reschedule missed appointments and meet breastfeeding competencies.

Community Engagement:
- Actively participate in outreach activities to promote WIC services.
- Fulfill additional assignments that align with the mission of the American Red Cross and WIC.

Compensation:
The hourly pay range for this position is $19.46/hr. - $21.17/hr., with variations based on geographic location and individual qualifications.

Qualifications:
- A degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Familiarity with the WIC program and maternal child health is preferred.
- Experience in public-facing roles and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.

Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word.
- Strong communication skills for both in-person and virtual interactions.
- Ability to educate groups on various topics effectively.

Additional Requirements:
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record may be required.
- Bilingual candidates, particularly in Spanish or Arabic, are preferred.
