Position Overview
BDR is in search of a Technical Project Manager to oversee a critical Supply Chain Information Technology initiative at the Department of Veteran Affairs. This role will be executed remotely, adhering to the Eastern Standard Time schedule. U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance are mandatory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exhibit knowledge of Logistics, Program, and Supply Chain Management principles, including Acquisition, Purchasing, and Lifecycle Management.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in data systems and technologies that support decision-making within VA/VHA Supply Chain.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring all commitments are met.
  • Evaluate project progress, implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain schedule and budget.
  • Address issues raised by stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of project status and impacts.
  • Provide analytical support for project cost and schedule changes, delivering status reports to the Supply Chain Data & Informatics Office (SCDIO).
  • Respond to inquiries from customers with accurate information aligned with VHA policies.
  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, fostering effective partnerships.
  • Proactively identify and resolve project-related issues, providing thorough background information and recommendations.
  • Implement project plans by defining objectives, scheduling tasks, and monitoring progress.
  • Recommend adjustments to project plans based on changing priorities.
  • Conduct detailed analyses and present findings to SCDIO and/or VHA leadership.
  • Create data products in response to internal or external requests.
  • Identify and resolve data inconsistencies and recommend solutions to process obstacles.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related technical field, or equivalent technical certification.
  • U.S. Citizenship and Public Trust clearance are required.
  • PMP Certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Agile Practice Certification (e.g., SAFe) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience with Jira or similar Agile tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in federal employment or consulting.
  • Familiarity with client/customer relations in a consulting environment.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Jira, GitHub, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired Skills
  • Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
  • Knowledge of end-to-end systems, particularly in compensation and pension.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments under pressure while providing excellent customer service.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
