What You Will Do

As a Staff Treasurer, you will collaborate with stakeholders and the broader team to achieve business objectives, provide insights on financial trends, and develop effective solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing all treasury operations, encompassing cash management, liquidity forecasting, investments, debt management, and foreign exchange risk management.
  • Formulating and executing global treasury strategies to enhance liquidity, mitigate financial risks, and improve overall financial performance.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance cash flow efficiency and maximize investment returns.
  • Managing cash flow forecasting, monitoring, and reporting to ensure sufficient liquidity for daily operations and initiatives.
  • Implementing cash pooling structures and other cash management solutions to optimize working capital.
  • Administering the company's debt portfolio, including borrowing arrangements, compliance, and repayment strategies.
  • Evaluating financing alternatives and negotiating terms with lenders to optimize capital structure and reduce financing costs.
  • Developing and implementing foreign exchange hedging strategies to mitigate currency risk exposure from international operations.
  • Monitoring currency markets and executing hedging transactions to safeguard against adverse exchange rate fluctuations.
  • Maintaining relationships with banks and financial institutions globally.
  • Leading banking RFP processes, negotiating banking agreements, and establishing new bank accounts internationally.
  • Setting up host-to-host file exchanges via API with banks to streamline treasury operations.
  • Identifying, assessing, and managing financial risks, including interest rate risk, credit risk, and counterparty risk.
  • Developing risk management policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Leading the development and maintenance of comprehensive cash flow forecasts and financial models.
  • Collaborating with sales, FP&A, and international operations teams to gather input and ensure accurate forecasting.
  • Analyzing cash flow drivers, variances, and trends to support strategic decision-making.
  • Evaluating, implementing, and maintaining treasury management systems (TMS) and other technology solutions to support treasury operations and financial reporting requirements.
  • Preparing and reviewing treasury-related financial reports, disclosures, and regulatory filings.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls related to treasury operations.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

About You

  • You are a self-starter (Required).
  • You possess flexibility and excel at managing multiple priorities (Required).
  • You have a strong desire to learn, a high-performance work ethic, and a good sense of humor (Required).
  • You hold a degree in accounting, finance, or business administration (Required).
  • You have experience and knowledge of Canadian financial standards.
  • You have experience with a large multinational company (Preferred).
  • You are proficient with SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or large ERP systems and Excel (Preferred).
  • You have a valid driver's license (Preferred).
  • You have 2 – 5 years of relevant experience (Preferred).
