Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Construction Cost Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring that costs are accurately estimated and controlled throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Estimating and Negotiating Change Orders: The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating and negotiating change orders throughout the construction lifecycle, ensuring that costs are accurately reflected and that the client's interests are protected.
  • Cost Planning and Management: The candidate will be responsible for providing cost planning and management services, including producing and presenting the final cost plan, reviewing and participating in the development of cost estimates, and reconciling changes and assisting the general contractor to ensure that their data is accurate.
  • Communication and Collaboration: The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating and collaborating with the general contractor, owner project manager, and other stakeholders to gather status information, prepare cost estimate updates, and drive engineering priorities based on cost impact.
  • Cost Management and Control: The candidate will be responsible for managing cost checks, carrying out valuations on larger projects, and completing timely and accurate cost checking and valuation processes.
  • Post-Contract Cost Management: The successful candidate will be responsible for performing quantity surveying, cost controls, and change management activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that post-contract cost variances and change control processes are managed effectively.
Requirements:
  • Experience: The successful candidate will have experience working in a construction cost management role, with a strong background in cost estimation, planning, and control.
  • Education: A college and/or post-graduate degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a field related to construction is required.
  • Skills: The candidate will have good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
